LGBTQ Surprise Proposal In DC

Lincoln planned an epic surprise proposal at The Eaton Hotel in Washington, D.C., to the love of this life, Amiro. The proposal was a romantic storytelling experience, and then they celebrated with their closest family and friends.

Preparation For A Modern Proposal

Lincoln, being the designer he is, had the perfect vision of how he would propose to Amiro. Lincoln wanted Amiro to feel that he was the most special person in the world. He chose The Eaton Hotel for its modern and industrial style hotel that mixes community, culture, social activism, and most importantly, it is a safe space for all types of love.

The Surprise Proposal

After exploring DC on this beautiful fall day, Lincoln led Amiro to the Eaton Hotel auditorium. Once Lincoln opened the door, Amiro was shocked to see Lincoln created a special film for him, adding all of their best memories and all of the reasons why he loves him so much. They had a violinist played their favorite song for a private dance. His face said it all. Suddenly, Lincoln got down on one knee and proposed! This was such a beautiful moment to capture.

The Newly Engaged Couple Portraits

The Eaton Hotel's diverse culture gave way to having unique murals and spots throughout the hotel. Therefore, it was a no-brainer that they wanted to utilize these spots for their post-proposal photos. The colorful murals and rooftops had immaculate lighting, which spoke to this artsy couple. Therefore, we took some great LGTBQ couple portraits showcasing their sense of style, queer pride, and love.

Surprise Cocktail Party To Celebrate The Couple

After we concluded the portrait session, Lincoln had another surprise for Amiro -- a surprise proposal party with their close friends for cocktails and appetizers. I wish you could have felt the energy of this room. Everyone was so happy for this couple and had a great time celebrating this couple. The whole party was escorted to the theater for one final surprise. Lincoln made another short film with family messages congratulating the couple on their new chapter. This was one of the best proposal/engagement sessions I have shot, and it was such an honor capturing this day for Lincoln and Amiro.
